Help!! Installation tips for Illustrator 10 in Win 7

Please don't tell me to upgrade to newere software. The cost is
prohibitive, and I only use Illustrator about once a month.

I'm very comfortable with it, as well.

I just "upgraded" from XP to Win 7, and the following good-old apps
could be a problem:

Illustrator 10

Pagemaker 7

Photoshop 7 (This does install and work so far, but I'm holding my
breath.)

Acrobat 7 Pro

Before I wade into this, I'd appreciate any suggestions/advice on how
to do the best install. Any yweaks, tips, etc.?

I just tried to install Illustrator 10 on Windows. It appeared to install but won't open.
