Hi, I can't seem to find any solution to the following Illustrator CS
installation error:
An error (-5006: 0x8000ffff) has occurred while running the setup.
Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other
applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor:
Adobe.

@Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (2195) IE 6.0.2800.1106
A previous thread in this group mentioned it being caused by an invalid
"My Documents" folder?
The PC meets the required specs (it has Illust 10 installed on it now),
has no unnecessary software running, is virus and spyware-free and has
been fully updated by Windows Update.
I've tried running the installation as an administrator, an existing
user and in a brand new administrator account. I've also tried deleting
all temporary files in the Local Settings and Temp folders, and
rebooting a dozen times.
Has anyone else run into this; or can they suggest something else to
try?
The PC specs are as follows:
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000
Service Pack: Service Pack 4
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.50GHz
