Export only what's inside artboard

Hi

I have an object whose shadow strays outside the artboard, but I'm
interested in exporting to jpg only what is inside the artboard. As
it is, I have to manually crop the exported jpg using paint shop.

I tried drawing a slice, but I don't see a way of just exporting the
slice.

sorry for the newbie question. thanks in advance.

Use the Save For Web option, and under the Image Size tab, check the box for "Crop to Artboard".

Hmm thats not helpful if you don't want the image for web, and you want it for print. Any other solutions that still allow 300 dpi as a choice? Apart from file/print obviously, which is of no use if you need a jpg.

When you click to export it as a tiff, tick the box that says 'Use Artboards'

Counter intuitively this doesn't actually crop the content to the artboard. I'm struggling with this now as even when selecting export artboard there's still a load of overflow that's being exported with the SVG - it's frankly nuts that this is such a difficult task. Why would you EVER want anything outside of the artboard to be exported?

I am with you, Nathan. I am trying to create a seamless tile but cannot seem to export just the artboard itself. I am trying to import to blender and regardless of what file I use, I either do not get the vector image, or I get what is outside the artboard, even after exporting artboard only and using a clipping mask. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to do this, I would be very grateful.
