Hi has anyone got anywhere with this? I have a 14.2Mb .ai file on a system with plenty of resources. I've monitored memory usage when I export to JPEG and Available memory doesn't drop at all (over 350Mb) - I simply get the 'Insufficient memory' error. When I export to PSD, available memory drops to about 1Mb and the machine churns for a good while but the process completes.

It looks like it's an inaccurate error message and that the problem is elsewhere. My pagefile is enormous and though I know I can export the PSD from Photoshop to JPEG it's not a solution when you have the number of .ai files we do.

I'd be very interested to know if anyone has solved this?

Thanks in advance for your help

Tom

Try to set the illustrator.exe file to WIN xp(sp2)..
go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS3\Support Files\Contents\Windows

, then you rightclick on illustrator.exe and hit prefrences, and then change it in the 2nt tab.

this worked for me ;)

good luck !
